Manpreet Aulakh
Operations Director
Manpreet Aulakh and his wife Raj are the major shareholders of SteamCleanz, with Manpreet having been with the company for eight years. During his tenure, Manpreet progressed from operations manager to operations director and eventually acquired a shareholding in the business, following discussions about the possibility of him taking on this role from day one. Over the last 3-4 years, the company engaged in serious succession planning, indicating a deliberate and strategic approach to the transition of ownership within the business.
Raj is a trained registered nurse, working for a community agency and is a mother of schoolboy Sean and a 1-year-old daughter.
Roger Nicholls
Governance Director (retiring)
Roger founded SteamCleanz Marlborough Ltd in 2010, leveraging his 25 years of experience in food manufacturing and expertise in quality, cleanliness, and hygiene. He holds qualifications in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and cleaning of seafood premises from NZQA.
Roger’s perfectionist nature, combined with his expertise, makes him well-suited for various challenges and jobs the cleaning industry has bought.
In 2024, Roger transitioned to a governance director role as part of his semi-retirement plan.
Our Team
SteamCleanz (100% Marlborough-owned and operated) was founded by Roger and Rosemarie Nicholls, who have over 60 years of experience combined. The company is supported by a professional and motivated team of over 40 staff members, stacked full of experience and expertly trained.
The team which works seven days a week for commercial sites (including after-hours), is dedicated to providing quality service to clients – serving clients across the Marlborough area including Picton, Blenheim, Kaikoura, and the Rai Valley.
The team’s attention to detail ensures that they consistently deliver high-quality cleaning services, guaranteeing satisfaction and delivering results to leave customers smiling.
The Art of SteamCleaning
Steam cleaning is recommended for use on your walls, ceilings, floors and upholstery. It works by converting water into dry steam vapour (at about 130oC).
The key benefits are that:
- This system kills the majority of bacteria, delivering more hygienic results – which is precisely why it is trusted for use in hospitals throughout Europe.
- It reduces the amount of water required to clean effectively (as a small amount of water makes a lot of steam), which is better for the environment. Water savings have been calculated at up to 90%. You reduce the quantities of cleaning products required by around 80%. This is better for the environment and decreases your exposure to chemicals and surfaces are left almost touch-dry after cleaning.
Where steam cleaning is not the best option, we have a range of environmentally friendly cleaning products we can employ. For your well-being, and that of the environment, we don’t use nasty, aggressive chemicals.
